Audrey Kwan is known for her ability to quickly develop a thorough understanding of a client's needs. She is frequently asked to take the most underdeveloped ideas and concepts, as well as the most detailed documents, and turn them into patent and trademark portfolios that provide strategic intellectual property coverage.
Ms. Kwan has prepared and prosecuted patent and trademark applications that have been evaluated and used to successfully obtain numerous rounds of venture capital financing, provided intellectual property strategy and foreign filing advice to some of the world's leading companies, prepared numerous unchallenged opinions of counsel, and led development of patent portfolios that have withstood due diligence scrutiny during acquisitions with values ranging from the tens of millions to the hundreds of millions of dollars.
Prior to founding KwanIP, Ms. Kwan was a Partner at one of the largest patent prosecution firms in the SF Bay Area/Silicon Valley.
She has long term patent and trademark portfolio development relationships with multiple clients who called upon her to replace prior counsel. She has handled without exception urgent matters having the shortest time frames. Ms. Kwan has prepared and prosecuted to fruition over a thousand U.S. and foreign patent and trademark applications for entities such as DoorDash, Brainguard, NeuroFocus (now Nielsen), Broadcom, Fyusion, Cisco Systems, Dell, MobiTV, Altera (now Intel), Nikon, RGB Spectrum, and the University of California.
